Cooking alla Giudia: A Celebration of the Jewish Food of Italy

Eating Carciofi alla Giudia (deep fried artichokes not Jerusalem artichokes) at a restaurant in Rome's Ghetto was a mind blowing experience. This book, featuring the dish on its cover, is simultaneously a dive into traditional Jewish Italian cooking as it is kosher and a modern option for lactose intolerant eaters who crave lasagna. The recipes feature appetizers, pastas, main courses as well as celebration dishes and desserts that you will most likely want to make over and over again. Lucky for us, Benedetta Jasmine Guetta also happens to be local to LA and runs a cafe called Lovi in Santa Monica.
